Four high college girls decided to show their support to the Norwegian Chess player, Magnus Carlsen, by raising the Norwegian flag – and taking their bra off.

Chess is not a great sport in Norway, but Carlsen has certainly raised the interest amongst the young girls. Two weeks ago four girls did the same thing when Sara Hansen (16), Thea Nilsen (16), Amalie Dehli (15) and HelleBjerke (16) threw their bra away and raised the Norwegian flag.

“It’s weird and a little embarrassing really, but our family thought it was fun” Dehli said.

It didn’t take long until the social media, Twitter, got things going. The biggest newspaper in Norway, VG, contacted the girls through the social network. They wrote to the girls and asked if they wanted to talk about the photo live.

Hansen (16) can confirm that they were nervous “We said that we really didn’t know much about Chess, but that we would like to have a chat,”

Even though the girl’s interest in Chess has risen enormously the last week, they don’t see themselves as Chess players. A Chess expert from Norway, Hans Olav Lahlum – who was in the studio when the girls were interviewed by VG – said that Chess needed a female touch, but these girls doesn’t think they’re a suited for the task.

The young talent, Magnus Carlsen, is already one of the greatest Chess players through history. He is currently in India playing for his last title, World Champion, against Anand from India.
